Message from Management

In the early 1970’s, Lester Archibald established Archibald Drilling & Blasting to meet the needs of small to medium-size quarries and road building contractors in Atlantic Canada. These industries are still an important part of our company’s core business, but as our customer’s needs have changed over the years, we, too, have grown and expanded our knowledge and skills to keep pace. We are proud to call ourselves the region’s experts in an increasingly specialized industry.

Mr. Archibald built the business on a reputation for skilled, quality work and total dependability. I had the privilege of working with him for seven years, and have owned and managed the company since 1986. In today’s highly technical world, we still believe that nothing can match the value of a strong partnership with a customer, and the satisfaction of a job well done.

We still do business on the basis of the company’s reputation, and seal it with a handshake. We work with many customers, again and again. Whether the challenge is moving a single boulder from a garden or drilling a trench across the province for a fiberoptic cable, we give each job our best expertise and full commitment. Quite simply, we commit to doing what we say we will do, no matter how challenging the situation becomes when the tools are in the ground. We value pride of workmanship, personal motivation, and the ability to deal with the unexpected that is a daily factor in this business.
