The Right Tool For Every Job
We invest extensively in top-quality equipment and technology, that allows us both to undertake routine jobs and resolve unusual problems effectively. We stock a full range of equipment for all the projects we undertake. If a specific site poses a new challenge, we also have the design and fabrication expertise on-staff to create specialized tools. In fact, we frequently design modifications to adapt existing tools for better results. Our drilling and blasting equipment can be mobilized rapidly for operations anywhere in Eastern Canada. Fully trailerized, self-contained units allow the operator complete independence to operate in remote areas, when needed.

In addition to our in-house blasting expertise, Archibald Drilling & Blasting maintains excellent working relationships with Eastern Canadian suppliers of explosives. These relationships ensure that we have access to some of the world’s best explosives experts, if an unusual situation arises. Over the years, we have pioneered the use of new explosive products and new technologies, including computer blast design and blast modeling, to help develop material resources for Atlantic Canada. Our Electronic Blasting Machines combined with Laser Face Profiling and down-the-hole burden checker allows us to give our customers the best experience possible.
In-House Maintenance For Assurance
Knowing and choosing the right equipment for each job, is part of the secret to long equipment life. But Atlantic Canada’s tough terrain can take a toll on any machinery. We operate our own in-house maintenance shop with skilled mechanics, to ensure our equipment is always ready for service, and damaged items can be repaired with the minimum downtime. Our employees can always feel confident in the machinery they operate, which adds to the pride they take to the job.

Caring For Places
Drilling and blasting is a challenging business to keep clean. We work hard to be an environmentally friendly neighbour, by taking the best care possible of the land, we work on, and the people and property around us. This includes making sure the communities, in which we work, are fully aware of the project ahead of time. For everyone’s protection, we always conduct a thorough pre-blast survey.
In the 1980’s, Roderick Dean played a key role, as a volunteer, helping to develop Nova Scotia’s current blasting regulations. Environmental protection is a given on every job. We make it a point to research the local environmental issues, in each area, and adhere to the local by-laws and special restrictions. We use state-of-the-art vacuum and mist dust controls and silencing packages on all equipment. Seismic monitors check the ground and air vibrations on every blast.

This includes always using the proper signs, maintaining strict inventory control of explosives, and on-site storage.
